Larissa Lockshin
Larissa Lockshin seeks to challenge the existing associations, categorizations, definitions, and language surrounding art, Larissa emphasizes objecthood over image content. Using printer ink, acrylic, oil sticks, enamel, and chalk, she creates objects that reach out to the viewer and exist in the liminal space between painting and sculpture. Her work aims to challenge the ever changing values of art in an oversaturated, digital world. Larissa is driven to create work that exists well beyond the virtual realm and asks the question of how art can maintain it’s purpose of being a physical object when the majority will view it through a screen.
