Aaron Bevan-Bailey

Born in South London, Aaron Bevan-Bailey is an artist whose paintings reflect the ever changing boundaries of race, environment, identity, anonymity and strives to explore the somewhat broken connection we experience in modern society. His paintings tend to start with abstract marks that begin to form their own language on the canvas as he aims to search for spiritual connections within his subjects that may not yet be known to the individual.

For some of his more recent work, Aaron travelled to Kenya, where he spent time with the indigenous tribesman of the Samburu Maasai. Whilst there, he would paint portraits that would challenge misconceptions of African culture as well exploring themes of community and mans relationship with the natural world.
