Tim Fawcett

British painter Tim Fawcett paints family, robots, fallen angels and stick figures in a seemingly child like fashion. Tim has purposely left behind the skills he was taught in university in the 80s and has since embraced imperfection. Fawcett approaches his work with carefree spirit and adopts error and irregularity as a part of his creative process.

Tim is heavily inspired by music and his work often captures the energy of the playlist he is listening to at the time allowing the kinetic energy to reflect through the work. Fawcett also draws inspiration from gestural artists stating: “I’m a huge fan of Cy Twombly because of his combination of raw gesture and conceptualism, and Edvard Munch for his depth of emotional intelligence and his ability to harness this in a painting”.

After deciding to unlearn what he was once taught he came out the other side with a desire for freedom and spontaneity which he found whilst teaching adults with learning disabilities.
