Lorna Sinclair
Lorna Sinclair’s practice is directed by colour, as it is colour that moves her to paint. Using a saturated and playful palette, Lorna creates ethereal landscapes and interior spaces that are rooted in reality but reimagined and transformed through her work.
Creating diverse textures through the heavy layering of oil paint, pigments and sand – Lorna depicts her sensory memories of travels to faraway dreamscapes, as well as scenes from her everyday life. Rich botanical scenes, seascapes and open windows spill from her canvases and paper.
Process driven; Lorna’s paintings derive from spontaneous sketches and imagination, providing a form of escapism.
